Biography: Tereza Michalová obtained her PhD in the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Economics, Technical University of Liberec (TUL), the Czech Republic, in 2024. Her specialisation is in Human Resource Management (HRM), and her research focuses on Knowledge Management (KM) from an HRM perspective, both in the business and academic environments. Her teaching experience includes courses such as Management (at the bachelor’s level) and Human Resource Management (at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels), delivered in both English and the Czech language. She has also been working on the topic of KM in an international project with the Norwegian NTNU University and within a short online learning opportunities for students.

Title: How knowledge management supports and influences core managerial functions

Abstract: Dr. Michalová will present the topic of Knowledge Management (KM) as a critical strategic asset and an integrator of core managerial functions. The talk will introduce the importance of knowledge, its classification, and key concepts that enable sufficient knowledge management activities. Furthermore, the second part of the talk will link KM to core managerial functions, enhancing managerial decision-making across the organisation.

Title: Knowledge management & knowledge sharing in cross-cultural communication

Abstract: Dr. Michalová will present the topic of Knowledge Management (KM) as a critical tool for managers navigating today's diverse and interconnected workplace. The talk will introduce the importance of knowledge, its classification, and key concepts that enable sufficient knowledge management activities. The central theme of the lecture will cover how managers can foster a knowledge-sharing culture that intentionally supports effective cross-cultural communication and collaboration.
