Biography:
Dr. Tai earned his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2011 and joined Texas A&M in 2014. He was recently promoted to Professor and is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), with over 15 years of experience in manufacturing research. His work focuses on manufacturing science with applications in automotive, defense, healthcare, and semiconductor industry with AI-driven innovation. Throughout his career, Dr. Tai has secured over $5M funding from federal agencies (NSF, DOE, NIH), private companies, national laboratories, and medical education organizations. He has authored or co-authored more than 80 journal articles. Currently, he serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Manufacturing Processes. His recognition includes the ASME Blackall Machine Tool & Gage Award and SME Young Manufacturing Engineer Award.
